Joy of the Redeemed

(David Cooley)

The desert sand bursts into bloom

The raging seas are fast subdued

The splendor of His mighty hand

Is everywhere displayed

The blind will come to see at last

The deaf will hear the trumpets blast

The lame will walk on perfect limbs

The mute will sing with joy

And we shall praise Him, for the son He gave us

We shall praise Him, He shed His blood to save us

We shall praise Him, give glory unto God

And we shall praise Him, He’s given us the joy of the redeemed!

Joy will be the crown we wear

All our sorrows fall away

We will march through Heaven’s gate

And bow before our Lord

With joyful hearts we’ll dance and sing

Give praises to the risen king

Lift our hands, exalt His name

Rejoice! We are redeemed!

[chorus]

For our God so loved the world

That He gave His only son

Who sacrificed Himself, so that we can live

It’s by His blood that we are redeemed!

[chorus]
