The Return of Christ, Thy Kingdom Come

(Read Matthew 6:9-13; Hebrews 6:19; Rev. 22:17-20)
"He who testifies to these things says, 'Yes, I am coming quickly.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus."

A Song addressing the Return of Christ:

Some people shrink back at the thought of Christ's imminent return. If you talk to them about it, they seem to say, "I hope it won't happen too soon. I've got this responsibility to take care of and that goal to pursue... not to mention this pile of sin that I've never dealt with...."

That is so wrong. Jesus teaches us to fervently pray for and desire His return. The Apostle Peter admonishes us that "in holy conduct and godliness" we are to be "looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God." If the Thief in the night finds us doing what He commanded us to do, we'll have nothing to be ashamed of when He comes unexpectedly.

If Jesus were to whisper to you tonight, "Behold, I am coming quickly," how would you respond?
